About Me

Welcome to Its Just Lisa!

I originally created my blog to track my life and keep me on track after losing weight on the Weight Watchers program. Since its creation in 2010 it has evolved into tracking my running training program journey, my new love of yoga, various nutrition and weight loss ups and downs, and finally some rants about my fab family and crazy life. Mostly I hope this site can inform, inspire and encourage you wherever you are in your journey.

Faced with a milestone birthday in 2009, I decided I wanted to be “fit and 40” rather than “frumpy and 40”. So, I joined Weight Watchers and lost 46 pounds (and 5 dress sizes) and became a lifetime member in November 2009. Yay me! I was not totally new to this game. This was the third time I became a lifetime member – the first was right before senior year in high school (lost 15 pounds in 1987) and the second was right before my wedding (lost 26 pounds around a decade later). So, here I am in 2010, another decade later with 46 lbs gone. I decided that this time – the “third time’s the charm”. It is off for good! In addition to staying involved and commited to my WW meetings (7:30am every Saturday) and running 3-4 times a week, I thought I would start a blog to track my maintenance/running journey and help to keep myself on track. I hoped that might even inspire those who stumble upon it.

Thanks to my husband, my behind the scenes techy, I have since purchased a domain name (itsjustlisa) and most recently moved my humble little blog to wordpress and a full-blown website. My wish is that something that you read here will inspire you, make you think or at the very least make you laugh! Enjoy!

I enjoy making and eating healthy food for my husband and boys and am enjoying getting into long distance running. After meeting my ultimate running goal of running a full marathon (Akron) in Sept 2011, I turned my main focus to yoga. In Oct 2012 I completed my 200 hours to become a certified yoga teacher at the Yoga Lounge!

I don’t claim to be a fitness expert or a Weight Watchers guru. However, I do have a plethora of experience with the Weight Watchers program (three time lifetime member!), I have been running since 2009 and practicing yoga since March 2011, and I’m happy to share my experiences with anyone! I’d be glad to share the good, bad and the ugly about my journey with you or just help you with a particular question or problem area. I also can share some good resources with you too. So, whether you need some basic information, a good kick in the pants, or a cheerleader, I’m your girl! After all, its just Lisa.
